Hello Bell Island,

I am sending you  a picture taken of a Labrador Helicopter from 103 Search and Rescue Sqn. taken in 1986 when I was on a training flight when I first arrived at the Squadron. One of the exercises was to practice precision hovering, and alighting upon the "Clapper" certainly allowed for this precision hovering (as you can see by the photo).

I was at the controls of the helicopter, and I believe Capt. Randy Price was my check pilot. We had landed on Bell Island and dropped off one of our Search and Rescue Technicians with my Camera and then proceeded to hover and land on the "Clapper". As I recall the cockpit seemed very warm (even though there is snow in the picture) while I was accomplishing the landing (gee I don't know why). Anyways, enjoy the picture and fell free to use it if you like (please include a credit). I am the owner of the image and in fact still have the original negative. If you have any questions please email me.

Sincerely,
David Barkes
