BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST
CORPUS CHRIST
MAY 29TH, 2005

Focus: Jesus is the Bread of Life.

Jesus told his followers that God the Father sent him into the world to bring eternal like to all who believed in him. Now Jesus says that those who eat hid Flesh and drink of his Blood will have eternal life. For some this was too difficult to understand and they left Jesus. We stay and we believe because we have the gift of faith.

George Jackman; Marie Cummings; Andrea Galway; Janet Brazil; Wayne Dunne

Congratulations
Our parish family extend our prayers and love to the children of our parish who will celebrate the First Eucharist this Sunday. It is with joy in our hearts that we pray for all children and to encourage their families to continue to bring their child to the church for the weekly celebration of Eucharist. The children along with their families have prepared well for this special moment in their lives and I trust it will be a time to renew our love for Christ through the gift of the Eucharist.

First Friday
On Friday of this week, we will visit the sick and the shut in's of the parish. If you are not home on this day, please call the parish office. We do have a large number of sick to visit and if you are not home, its allows us more time to be with others. Thanks you for your kindness.

Welcome Home
Some of our regular Summer Friends have returned home for the summer vacation. We trust you are smiling once again to be back to the Island and we offer you our renewed friendship and hospitality . Welcome Home.

Cemetery Cleanup
The month of June is here within a few days and its time to start the annual cemetery clean up. We have a busy summer and many tourists and family members will visit our town. We have only one person employed with the parish this summer and therefore we need all parishioners to support the clean up of our cemetery. Please start early and remove the debris especially old fences and concrete that have deteriorated during the past years. Let us be respectful and reverent for all our beloved dead and care for their resting places with love.

50th Anniversary
On Friday, June 17th , Father Ed Purcell who served this parish many years ago (known as Eddie Russell, the hockey player) will celebrate his 50th anniversary as a priest. There is a mass of thanksgiving at the church in Mount Carmel, St. Mary's Bay at 6:00 p.m. All are invited to attend. For more information, please call the parish office.

Annual Financial Campaign: Building Up the Kingdom of God
Pastoral Care services are provided to hundreds of people on a daily basis in our hospitals, university, nursing homes, etc. They receive a visit from a pastor or member of a parish team, and these visits are offered on a twenty-four hour basis. Services are funded by the Archdiocese, NOT the Health Care Corp. or government agencies. Although we receive support from our local religious communities, it is not enough. Therefore, we depend upon the generosity of others to assist us fund and continue these ministries and ask sincerely ask for your continued donations.
