Focus: Persevering in faith is possible with God's gift of strength.

Patient waiting does not come easily to people who live in a society which values instant gratification. However, patient perseverance in faith is exactly what is necessary for us to grow in the spiritual life. God's time does not follow our timetable. The good news is that we are not on our own; rather, the strength to endure will come from God if we ask.

Concert: Philharmonic Choir, October 3, 2004
The 70 voice Philharmonic Choir of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, with conductor Dr. Douglas Dunsmore, is delighted to share its love of choral singing with the people of Bell Island. Come and hear songs from several countries, some highlights from the classical repertoire, a sampling of the annual "Messiah" concert, and a full slate of the gospel and spiritual tunes, including rousing renditions of "Lift Every Voice" and "It Is well With My Soul."
The performance will take place at St. Michael's Church on Sunday, October 3rd at 3:00pm. Admission is $5.00, and tickets are available at the door.
This is a wonderful showcase of talent and truly a remarkable opportunity to listen to the greatest Choir. I am very thankful to Mr. Harry Bown who is a member of this choir and who is the individual responsible for bringing this wonderful choir to our area.
