SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
MAY 16, 2004

FOCUS: Peace is God's gift to us.

The Resurrection calls us to the joy of eternal life with God. The Ascension helps us to realize that the joy will go on forever. Faith in the presence of God is the very beginning of the vision of God which we will have in heaven. This will bring us complete happiness as we learn to walk with God.

New Parish Secretary
After interviewing the six individuals who applied for the part time job as secretary for the parish, the hiring committee has selected Jody Whelan. All applicants were of excellent ability and all had different gifts that would compliment the work. However, only one could be chosen and I wish to thank all others who applied. This position of employment will not commence until July and it will be for nine hours per week. I wish to thank the hiring committee who had the difficult task to select the successful applicant but it was done with fairness and respect for all concerned.

Thank You
Sincere thanks to Mr. Bill Coombs who donated the beautiful piece of furniture that we will use to place our Holy Oils. During the month of May, it is traditional that we take time to pray the Rosary as individuals and it would be wonderful if we prayer the Rosary as a family. We will pray the Rosary 20 minutes before our weekday masses. All are encouraged to pray the Rosary and reflect on the mysteries of our Christian faith.
