PHONE: 488-2525 – FAX: 488-3399

Administrator: Fr. Wayne Dohey – Secretary: Jody Whalen

TWELFTH SUNDAY
JUNE 20, 2004

Focus: Following Jesus Christ is a daily choice which called us to deny ourselves and take up our cross.

We are all children of God, one in Christ Jesus. This unique relationship offers us rewards beyond description, yet demands from us self-sacrifice and promises us a cross. We can find companionship and encouragement in the community of believers as we strive, on a daily basis, to take up our cross.

Immaculate Conception School Closing : 1972 - 2004
It is with sadness that we mark the end of another turning point within our town with the closing of Immaculate Conception School. To those who were affiliated with the school community during the past years , I am sure there are many memories and a greater strain of pain within your hearts. On behalf of our parish, I offer our prayer and blessing to all who in any way shared in the excellence and fine Christian character of Immaculate Conception School. We have inherited many blessings through the leadership of all involved and our youth at present who attend the school and those who passed through the corridors of Immaculate, we are confident you have gained the true insights of what we are all called to be....people of faith and fine Christian example. Let us give thanks to the Lord for the history of Immaculate Conception School and pray that we may continue to welcome Christ into all aspects of our daily living.

Farewell and Thanks
Our parish extends sincere thanks to Cindy Foley for her years of service to our parish as secretary. Cindy will complete her work as secretary on Thursday, June 24th. I am very thankful to Cindy for her service and I wish her every blessing especially in her efforts to gain employment in the future. The life of a secretary is not always easy especially in a parish but despite all the smiles and challenges, Cindy accomplished the tasks entrusted to her care and for all she has done, we say : Thank You.

Happy Father's Day
It is with great joy that we extend to all dads a special blessing as they celebrate Father's Day. We remember all dads living and deceased and we pray they will be blest for all they do to be loving to their families. May this day be a time for all Father's to renew their call to be the best dad possible. Happy Father's Day.

Cemetery Mass Schedule

Sacred heart Cemetery, Lance Cove: 2:30 p.m. : August 1st

Cemetery Clean Up
Have you taken time to visit the cemetery during the past week? If not, please visit the cemetery during the coming weeks and help clean up the property after a long winter. There are many fences of no use and I ask families to remove the old wood and debris as soon as possible. Let's start the work early and ensure it is given respect as it rightly deserves.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
A special prayer of Thanksgiving is offered to our Blessed Lady for special favours. G.H.
