SEVENTEENTH SUNDAY
July 25th , 2004

Focus: God calls us to be faithful in word and deed.

Today we are instructed to pray fervently and to be persistent in faith as we place our needs before God and ask for assistance. When we pray often, God becomes part of everything that we do. Jesus assures us that Father will send the Holy Spirit to assist us in our needs when we ask. What kindness God showers on those who are faithful!

Sympathy
Our parish extends sympathy to the family and friends of the late: Alice Nugent, Ed Browne, Gordon Power and Mary Costello. May they share in the peace of eternal life.

In Memorial
Special thanks Joan Whelan who donated the arrangement of flowers which were placed in front of the church. This donation is in loving memorial of Judy Whelan. Thank you kindly.

Happy 40th Wedding
Congratulations are extended to Mr. and Mrs Gerald and Molly Tremblett who are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Best Wishes on your special day.
Parish Family Day- August 8th, 2:30
Parishioners and friends are invited to our annual Family Day and we trust it will be fun for all. The gathering will take place at the Parish hall with a variety of games for children and adults as well as hot dogs/hamburgers and pop for the children. If you plan to attend, parents/guardians are asked to stay with the children for the fun day. The intent of the celebration is to promote Family and to give thanks for the blessings we all share. It is a time to celebrate our parish family and enjoy each others company. All are welcome to share in the activity. If you are interested in helping organize the Parish Family Day, we need all your support to organize the activities for the children. If you have extra toys at home, please drop them off to the church or parish house and we can distribute the toys to the children during the Family Day as prizes for the winners for the many activities.

Thank You
Sincere thanks to all who made our second annual Dinner Theatre a huge success. The many volunteers who coordinated the event are to be highly praised. It was an evening of fine display of talent and a powerful sign of the true spirit of voluntarism in our parish. I am very grateful to Des McCarthy who coordinated the Theatre along with his fine cast; to Rosanne Grant who coordinated the dinner along with Mary Power and her many, many volunteers; and to all who helped in any way to make this event a success.

Here are just a few comments that several individuals wrote concerning the Dinner Theatre:
" Excellent dinner , the decorations are amazing, the play was superb, thanks for all the hard work"; " Outstanding performance, an evening to remember, good luck with your next project, hope I am here to see it," "Superb mystery performance, wonderful night with family and friends."

Thanks to all for your kind words of encouragement.

The financial results are as follows:

Ticket Sales for Dinner: $ 4815.00
Ticket sales: $231.00
Bar Sales: $ 1028.00
Total Income: $6174.00 Net Income after expenses:$4350.48
To all who participated with this great event, we say once again: THANK YOU.
