THIRD SUNDAY
JANUARY 25, 2004

Focus: We must listen to the word of God with our whole being.

How can we better listen to the word of God? When we allow God's word to penetrate our minds, hearts, and souls, it will transform us and stir the depths of our being. In holding up our lives to the light of God's word, we can reflect his truth and glory to those around us and receive guidance on our journey toward God's eternal kingdom.

CHURCH CLEANING TEAM - 3 For week of Jan. 26th to the 30th
Karen Seward, Lydia Brazil, Clara Hammond, George Jackman, Marie Cummings

Church Property : Damage

During the past week some graffiti was written on the siding of our church. This is a terrible sign of disrespect for the house of God. I have reported the incident to our police but they too are at a loss as to what we can do.
Therefore, we ask that no person gather at our church property unless it is for appropriate reasons such as liturgies and other related events that the building is to be used. In the future the police will patrol our property on a more regular basis.

Youth Choir

On Tuesday, January 27th at 2:30 p.m. at the church, our youth are invited to gather so that we can form a youth choir. All youth are invited and you are asked to bring along your musical instrument if you have one. I am very thankful to Bonnie Hammond who will lead and direct our youth choir. I ask parents to encourage their children to share their talents with our church and promote this activity. Please support our church choir .

Financial Statement : 2003

The financial report for the year 2003 is available at the entrances of the church. It is a very positive report and I strongly encourage you to discuss it. Some of the expenses may vary from previous years but this is due to the fact that they have been recorded in different categories from previous years. Therefore, if there is any uncertainty, please discuss it with me or a member of the finance.

Knights of Columbus/St Michael's Parish Ticket Sweep

Tickets are on sale for $40.00 each. You are asked to take one ticket or more and sell it to members of your family or purchase it yourself. This ais a major fund raiser and we ask for your support. At the end of mass today, you may take one or several tickets and return the money at a later date. We will record the name of the individual who takes the ticket and provide you with the requested number of tickets. Please support this major fund raising activity for our parish.

Church Envelopes 2004

If you have not received your church envelopes for 2004, you may pick them up at the back of the church. For those who wish to receive envelopes for the first time, please request a box before or after mass.

St . Patrick's Day Concert : Sunday, March 14th

Are you interested in helping with our annual St . Patrick's day Concert ? Please join in the fun and celebrate. You are asked to contact Karen Seward or the parish office if you are willing to participate. If our concert is to be successful we need your support.

Tax Receipts 2003
Copies of the tax receipts for parishioners who used church envelopes for the year 2003 will be available at the church within two weeks. Thank you for your patience in waiting for your receipt.
