Sympathy

late Alice Kennedy & Walter King. We offer our prayers for the family
and we pray that the Lord will welcome our sister & brother to eternal

Happy Valentines Day
Next weekend we will celebrate Valentine's Day and it is the time for us
to say : " I Love You" to the special people in our lives.
During our weekend masses you are invited to renew your wedding vows. It
is a simple ceremony and it is basically a blessing to strengthen you in
married life. The sacrament of marriage deserves greater importance today
and therefore as you renew your vows, it can be a public sign to others of
the importance of the sacrament of marriage. If you wish to renew your
vows, please call the parish office and submit your names.
Lenten Season
The Lenten season is approaching and it will begin on Wednesday, February
25th. Let us prepare to celebrate the season in preparation for the joy of
the Easter Season.
In Memorial: New Hymn Books, CBW 111
At our recent parish council meeting it was decided that we purchase
new hymn books for our church. The old hymn books CBW 11 are no longer the
main music books for our church and they are replaced with a more updated
hymn book with a variety of new hymns. We have already received several
donations for this project.
The cost of the hymn books are $20.00 each and we need to purchase 250.
However, we have received a $1000.00 donation from the Sisters of Mercy,
$500.00 from the local council of the Knights of Columbus and $200.00 from
Mr and Mrs Gerald Pearson in memory of their son Jude Pearson. It is
important that we keep up to date with new music and with the recommended
hymn books by the archdiocese.
Therefore, if you wish to donate a hymn book in memorial of your loved
one, you may do so. Please write the name of the donor and the person it
is donated in memorial, along with your offering and place it in the
weekend collection or drop it off at the parish office. This is a major
project and I hope we can have the hymn books for Easter. However, I
understand you have many demands on your limited incomes but I trust we
all can set aside a few dollars each week and at the end of the month, you
may be able to donate one hymn book per family.
Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to a positive
result with reference to this project.
In lieu of flowers, families may consider donating hymn books to our
church in memorial of your loved one. We all know that flowers are very
costly and they only last a brief time. If you donate a hymn book, it can
be lasting memory with the name of your loved one inscribed on the inside
of the hymn book.
Thank You
Sincere thanks to the Sisters of Mercy who donated $1000.00 to our parish
to help purchase the new hymn books for our church. We are very
appreciative to the Sisters for this donation and we are also very
thankful for their faithful ministry to our parish.
Novena
