First Friday : Visitation to Sick/Shut In's
On Friday of this week, I will visit the sick and the shut in's of the
parish. I remind the sick and the shut in's that they are not required to
follow the church law of fasting one hour before communion. We have a
large number of parishioners to visit and it takes a lengthy time to
complete. If you are not home on Friday, please call the office and this
will save us time in visiting the sick and shut in's.

A bereavement seminar will be held in our parish on Tuesday, June 10th at

process and presents some information on things individuals and families
can do to help themselves and others during the time of grief. The session
will be directed by Dr. Rick Singleton , director of pastoral care with
the Health Care Corporation, St. John's. All parishioners and friends of
the community are encouraged to attend.
Dinner Theatre : July 18th: 6:00 p.m., Parish Hall
Plans are well under way for a Dinner Theatre to be held at the parish
hall on Friday, July 18th. The evening will consist of a Murder Mystery
Act, Silent Auction , Dinner and Dance. This wonderful evening will be
organized with superb talent and with professional care. During the
evening we will serve a three course meal with a complimentary glass of
wine and a great opportunity to participate in the silent auction. We have
a limited number of 200 tickets available at a cost of $20.00 each. The
evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the auction followed by the Mystery
Murder Act which the guests must solve who is the guilty of the crime. I
encourage our youth of senior high school to offer their support in
helping with this event. Tickets will be available next week at the
following places: Parish Office, Rosanne Grant, Margaret Murrin, or Ursula
Lahey. The deadline for the purchase of the tickets is Friday, July 4th.
All tickets must be purchased at this time in order for the event to be
organized with a list of the names of those who are attending the event.
Thank You
Sincere thanks to all who donated to the purchase of a new lawn mower and
whipper snipper for the parish. If you wish to add to the donations,
please do so during the coming weeks. Your support to the parish is always
appreciated and surely helps with the continued work required in the
parish.

World Communications Day: Sunday, June 1st
Today Catholics are invited to reflect upon the media of social
communication (films, radio, television, newspapers, audiovisuals) and how
these influence our lives.
The media can promote values that lead to a more fully human society. The
Church's ministry is twofold. The media can be used to help promote the
gospel. At the same time, as receivers of the materials presented by the
media, the faithful have a duty to support and promote worthwhile
presentations on media and reject those which promote values contrary to
spiritual growth.
