SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT
DECEMBER 7, 2003

Focus: All shall see the salvation of God.

Advent is a time of joy and hope; a time for those who have wavered to return to God's ways; a time for each of us to prepare for the return of the Lord. Advent is also a perfect time for us to reflect on how well we have witnessed to our faith in Jesus Christ through our words and actions. By our lives Christianity is judged by the world. Let us radiate the joy and hope we have in Christ.

In Lieu of Flowers
One of the many ways we offer comfort to families in times of grief when they experience the death of their loved ones is through our giving of Flowers. It is a sign of our compassion and respect. The unfortunate problem with flowers is that they are brought to the church and they only last for a few days before they are thrown away. As you know these flowers cost a major amount and their value last only a few days.

Once again, it is recommended that in lieu of flowers that you consider donating to a charity of your choice so that the money may be used in a more wisely manner. As a parish, we seek your support, and in lieu of flowers, you may make a monetary donation to our parish to help with the purchase of new hymn books for our choir or a donation towards the maintenance of our cemetery.

If you wish to donate in lieu of flowers, please consider your parish. The financial costs to operate our are rising considerably and why not donate to a more lasting need rather than flowers. We ask for your support . If you wish to donate in lieu of flowers, please place your offering in an envelope with the intention of the deceased and we will notify the family of your donation . Thank you for your consideration.

Parish Secretary
The office schedule is a little more busier as we approach the Christmas season and as we end the year. The parish files are to be completed for the end of the year as well as the financial records are to be completed and a financial statement to be prepared for the parishioners.
Therefore , the secretary will be in the office at the following times:
Monday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 House Cleaning
Tuesday - Thursday - 10:00 - 3:00 Office
These hours will be reviewed after Christmas. It is not our intention to have a full time secretary but due to a greater demand for Christmas, we have increased her hours of employment.
