Welcome Back
Our parish extends a warm welcome back to all teachers, students and maintenance
staff of our schools after a restful summer vacation. We hope the regular
members of the school community will enjoy the year and the new members
will find a place of welcome and a spirit of family. We assure all members
of our school community of our support and we pray it will be a year of
success and many blessings. I look forward to working with all parents ,
staff and students in all aspects of the school year.
Labour Day
On Monday, September 2nd, we celebrate Labour Day. It is a fitting time of
year to give thanks to God for the many blessings of human labour and to
renew our commitment to respect the dignity of all work. May we always
ensure that the workplace is a sacred place as we bring the blessing of
God and share the message of Christ to all people.
Registration for Sacraments
We strongly encourage Parents/Guardians to take an active role in the
passing on of the faith to their son/daughter. In order for us to teach
our children the love of God we must ensure they receive proper formation.
If you wish to register your son/daughter for the sacraments or to further
their religious formation , please register at the parish office or pick
up the registration form at the church . Only those who are registered
will participate in the program.

A two hour seminar for those who lost loved ones which describes the
grieving process and how to cope with such a loss will take place on
Monday, September 16th at the Health Science Complex in room 2 J618. Stay
on the main corridor of the main entrance and follow the signs. No

our hope that within a few months we can have our own bereavement team for

with the families and ensuring pastoral care is extended to the in time of
need.
Parish Insurance Costs
The insurance costs for our parish has increased by 40% from last year.
This year the parish insurance costs: $7,315.00 for church/hall and it
costs $ 719.00 for the Presbytery. The total cost is $ 8,034.00. This is a
major expense for the parish. It is a great concern and we must attempt to
meet this debt payment throughout the coming months. Please support our
cause. I invite all parishioners and former parishioners to consider
donating a little extra to the cause.
Lung Association
The Lung Association will host its first Breath of Hope Memorial Relay on

In Lieu of Flowers
It is in time of loss that we bring flowers as a sign of our compassion to
those who are grieving. This is a wonderful expression of sorrow and yet
we know that the flowers only last for a few days. If you wish to offer a
monetary gift in lieu of flowers, you can consider donating to your parish
or another charity. It is your choice to bring flowers or to donate to the
building fund of the parish or another charity . However, our parish needs
financial help and your donation to our chaity can be another expression
to the family of your support for the maintenance of the church which is
our house of prayer. Special cards are available at the funeral home or
church if you wish to donate to our charity.
