The Board of Directors for the 2nd Annual Newfoundland Button Accordion Idol Show is very proud to announce the 2008 Newfoundland Button Accordion Idol is Mr. Paul Hamilton, formally of Bell Island, currently residing in Mount Pearl, NL.  Way to go Paul!

The Harry Hibbs Memorial Trophy is on display at the Wabana Complex proudly displaying our 2007 winner - Mr. Ed Didham and our 2008 winner  Mr. Paul Hamilton.  Sincere thanks to Mr. Henry Crane for the engraving on the beautiful trophy graciously donated by the Hibbs Family. 
 
Second place winner is the gifted Mr. Chris Bemister of Torbay
 
Third place went to another multi-talented Bell Island musician, Mr. Terry Skehans

1st Annual Accordion Idol Declared
July 30, 2007

Ed Didham is Newfoundland's Accordion Idol. Didham, who is from St. Mary's Bay, was the winner of the Accordion Idol contest on Bell Island on the weekend. About 20 accordion players competed in what is being called a successful first event. Paul Hamilton, originally from Bell Island, came in second and Anne Noonan from Baie de Verde place third.
