Lance Cove History  submitted by Brian Rees

HERE ARE THE NEW LINKS TO THE WEB PAGES THAT WERE TEMPORARILY OFF LINE.

THE LANCE COVE PAGE HAS BEEN UP-DATED TO INCLUDE A PHOTO OF THE WILLIAM AND SOPHIA (HISCOCK)  STONES THAT WERE DISCOVERED DURING THE CLEANUP.  William and Sophia are the parents of our branch of the Rees clan.  Brian scrubbed the stones clean and stood them temporarily on end to take those photos for me.  Thanks to Paul's initiative , those stones were uncovered. I never knew they were there and neither , I think, did my dad or else he would have told me about them.  If I've done anything , I hope I have stirred up a new interest in who we are and where we came from.

In terms of history,  Lance cove has a priceless heritage.
Sometime that will be better understood.

Rod Bickford and his beautiful wife, Marjorie Coakwell have picked up the torch.  It's amazing how Marjorie has embraced Lance Cove.  Though she's from central Canada, she sees things things to which the locals have become blind.

Thanks to Martha for doing this.  It was a huge job that required a lot of time since she practically had to start from scratch.  GeoCities,
the company that hosted the original sites went out of business and deleted everything on their server.   They did ; however give us a year's warning which we neglected to heed.   All's well that ends well. I do not know the HTML language; so I would never be able to do this on my own.  My web pages are not the "
ready made  (paint by numbers) type that can be found on line and simplified for the technical illiterate, like me.  My web pages are persomally designed.  I did much of the  design and all the writing.   Martha gave it the professional touch.   HTML is her second language.
