The Island Advisory Services Inc (IAS) will provide strategic focus and leadership for economic development on Bell Island. The lAS is a non-profit organization governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. It is designed to work in partnership with various economic and social development groups, and individuals to prepare and implement a long term strategic plan for community economic development for Bell Island. The primary objectives are to enhance investment and sustainable employment opportunities, to market the island's attributes and to improve the climate for enterprise development.

More specifically, the IAS will:

• identify, promote and support priorities for sustainable growth
• document and market the island's attributes and encourage increased investment
• influence government policies, regulations and programs to improve the climate for enterprise development
• identify and promote appropriate infrastructure enhancement
