My Bell Island Home
Oh how I love to go back home
To my Island in the sea
I hear her as she calls my name
And gently beckons me.
"Come home, my child, come home again
Where life was good and fine
Come taste again the memories
That still are yours and mine.
Come to the land of your birth
To your family's dwelling place
Come drink from the stories of the past
Recalling every friend's face.
Come sing and dance as days of old
Filled with music, filled with song
Come celebrate the life you've known
On the Island where you belong."
And so I must go - to return once more
To answer my call alone
To journey back to family and friends
And my beautiful Bell Island home!
