Bell Island, Newfoundland, a serene, awe-inspiring island, majestically
rising out of Conception Bay, was the scene of several horrific events
during the Second World War. In a place where fishermen and miners
risked their lives every day in the pursuit of a livelihood, the
residents would bear witness to the products of war. With each attack, fear and distrust escalated.
