In the Mouth of the Dragon

Bell Island, Newfoundland, a serene, awe-inspiring island, majestically rising out of Conception Bay, was the scene of several horrific events during the Second World War. In a place where fishermen and miners risked their lives every day in the pursuit of a livelihood, the residents would bear witness to the products of war. With each attack,
fear and distrust escalated.

This story is told from three perspectives:
a girl who moved to Bell Island to live with her sister, a boy whose home was closer to these events than anyone else's, and, finally, the U-boat Captains assigned the deadly missions.
